Please help with re-homing VV-260

Post by Shorelover »

We've had this for eons, but it doesn't fit in the new house, so I'd like to find a new home for it. Any recommendations on how to sell it (near Philadelphia) or what to ask? Thanks.

VV-260 "low-boy" model; dimensions are: 20" deep, 33" wide and 35" tall (closed). Very good condition and working order (all original parts, with none missing); comes with extra needles and 3 books of Victor records (10 records each).
Mahogany exterior has a light oil finish; all interior surfaces are in excellent original condition.
Made in Camden, NJ in 1921 with metal label from store in Bath, NY

I also have 4 non-Victor books of records

I know that the hump-back models aren't very popular with collectors. If you were closer to Pittsburgh I would be interested solely because my husband likes the way they look. I would suggest you try Craigslist, if you could get someone who just wants a victrola but doesn't know much about them you could probably get a couple hundred just because it is so complete and in very good condition.

I may be interested, depending on the price. I happen to like that style also.

Are you close enough to come look at it? Make me an offer, happy to find a new home for it! Thanks.

Thanks, I'll try that if Tomwil doesn't take it! You're probably about 5 hours away from me unfortunately.

It is a very nice machine. I always thought that it was rare because all I ever saw was the tall ones in antique stores. Oh well....

I hope you find it a good home. I really would be happy to have it if I were even a few hours closer. :)

me, too! I would love to see someone who really enjoys it take it. It was the first antique I ever bought, and I was in my teens! I think I'm only the 2nd owner. I see that there's a show in Wayne, NJ in Oct -- any chance you'll be there?

Got it and responded. I wasn't online since early yesterday because of the giant storm that was predicted. We lucked out, and didn't get much rain or even wind here.
