I have #4617. Did all the early XIV's have the vertical record rack or did some just have a space for record albums w/no rack of any kind?
It was also missing parts of the motor but I was fortunate to find one in a badly damaged cabinet so decided to try and complete it rather than use it for parts.

The XIV was one of Victor's nicer models and I would expect to see vertical record storage in the early example. The early vertical record storage made it difficult to use albums or other means of protecting records except for their sleeves because the spacing was so narrow. If yours is missing, I suspect an earlier owner removed the vertical dividers so albums could be used. Are there any clues such as screw or nail holes? Jerry
