I'm pretty sure that particular Berliner horn is in my collection!

James.

PS: The above is close enough for a laugh. A German would also laugh at the spelling.

Corrections:
Beisst Dein Hund?
Nein
Dein Hund beisst.

Thanks to Andreas for the assist.

Ein old vun, but ein gut von!

Considering that the original Nipper once managed to dismember a stuffed camel, perhaps it was best that Barraud painted him posthumously....

Uncanny!

I did the same thing to my phonograph the last time I played a Hawaiian record. Still trying to figure how to get the teeth marks out of the horn...

Here is the real story regarding the few "stills" that have survived from a reel.

william sinkler darby together with fred gaisberg made the very first gramophone recording on dutch soil here in the netherlands
it was ''het oude wilhelmus'' it is now our nation's national anthem it wasn't in 1899 when darby and gaisberg recorded it
it was played by het haagsche regiment muziek corps and recorded in amsterdam

in 1899 the dutch national anthem was wien neerlans bloed the song was about white skined blond haired bue eyed people living behind the sand dunnes
after the second world war it was deemed too rasistic and the anthem ''het wilhelmus'' was adopted as the nations oficial anthem even dough it had been used as such in royal occasions since the 1930s

dutch neo nazi's still use ''wien neerlands bloed'' wich is strange because the original dutch nazi's used another song ''wij zijn de zwarte soldaten'' we are the black soldiers wich was true in every sence of the word black dese guys where worse than the waffen ss!
