Anyone know what this is?
The owner is very knowledgable about phonographs but hasn't found any info on this machine. Sorry, I only have the one photo. It is electric and has not makers markings on it. This is all I know about it:

Fascinating! It has to be a one-off special order from some machine shop. The only machine I can think of that is even similar is the Duplex Pathéphone.

Where is the horn/ horns? Are there four horns two, or one? Could be some sort of demonstration machine from an early phonograph store where records were previewed, or some strange atempt at continous play ( at least 4)records. At any rate it is very unusual! Ed

If there's only one horn, I'd suggest that the machine might have been used for early radio broadcasting - - except only 2 turntables would be necessary! Beats me...

Maybe the owner could make a YouTube video of it and include the winding!

Maybe it was some long forgotten inventors prototype. A store demo machine like someone suggested?

Perhaps it belonged to a gambling den?
Just put 4 different "Puzzle Records" on the turntables, and take bets on what it will play next!

To me, this looks like an early form of record changer. Place a program of four records on the turntables and enjoy 12 minutes of uninterrupted music.

A true Speakeasy item, it also flips to reveal four roulette wheels.Lucius1958 wrote:Perhaps it belonged to a gambling den?

Yes, that would be great if the tone arm mechanically moved from platter to platter.Silvertone wrote:To me, this looks like an early form of record changer. Place a program of four records on the turntables and enjoy 12 minutes of uninterrupted music.
