Wanted - Victor 2-spring barrel with good springs

Post by 52089 »

If you have a spare one of these (see pics) for sale or trade, please let me know. My XI appears to have one good spring and one loose spring and I never do springs myself. If you prefer to sell the whole motor, that's fine too. I'll also be happy to send you mine as part compensation if that's of interest.

Thanks,
Kevin

$25.00 plus postage, cleaned and freshly lubed, if you want it.

There are two versions of that motor. Make sure you are getting the same gear. Jerry

Dont the 2 gears just pull straight out of the spring barrel like on the HMV version, so the barrel & springs should be interchangable on both Victor versions?

Yes. 'Tis no problem at all. Thanks for pointing this out.

I keep a cheap screwdriver with a bent tip on my work bench to make the insertion of he gears on their bosses easier. The simple tool makes it a lead-pipe cinch, actually.

Is this the motor you are looking for? Looks similar to me.

Thanks, I've learned something. I tried trading barrels with gear and noticed the difference. I was reluctant to pull the gear. Thanks, Jerry

Most likely yes, but I've seen them much cheaper on ebay. I really only need the springs and the barrel, but I'd take the whole motor if need be.

I have an extra two spring barrel out of a Victor Granada with 12ft springs. If not I might be willing to fix your current barrel and install two good springs. Barrel should be marked 12 or 17 on the side.
