Um, guys, has anyone commenting here even listened to this particular recording that I've uploaded?

I've downloaded it, listen to it, and I like it (real player balked at the files, but windows media player worked just fine). Very nice transfers, BTW.beaumonde wrote:Um, guys, has anyone commenting here even listened to this particular recording that I've uploaded?
Debussy is ranked number 22nd of 50 composers in Phil Gouldings's "Classical Music: The 50 Greatest Composers and Their 1000 Greatest Works". Quartet in G Minor is listed in Goulding's Top Ten and Master List for Debussy collections.

Yes, Adam, I've listened to it several times, and should have mentioned how I've enjoyed it! The Columbia surfaces are delightfully quiet. Lovely ensemble playing too!

Glad you've enjoyed it.
I used to own this set over a decade ago, crudely dubbed it with a couple of microphones in front of a Califone, and then traded it for some acoustic opera discs. So I enjoyed listening to it, in a fashion, for many years, before I re-acquired the set to do a proper job of it! Soon noticed that it plays properly at 76.6 rpm, too, so my old tape was a bit sharp.

My apologies, Adam... When I posted on the first page that I had downloaded them, I should have at least had the courtesy of a follow up post letting you know how much I have also enjoyed listening!beaumonde wrote:Um, guys, has anyone commenting here even listened to this particular recording that I've uploaded?

Thank you again.
