New England Talking Machine?

Post by alang »

Just saw this on eBay. Overpriced I think, but very interesting construction. I've never seen any phonograph from this company, only "The Perfection Reproducer" so far.

Likely had a formed sheet-metal, faux wood-grained lid. I have seen a machine constructed with the same lid alignment posts, only with glass sides rather than round. Not sure of the manufacturer, but whoever it was, was prone to over-the-top table model designs. 'New England' was likely a regional distributor. Uncle Vanya, do you know anything about these?

Here is the version that John is referring to. It was in a local antique shop for $35 recently.
