Standard machine cranks

Are the Standard Model A and Model E cranks the same? Thanks

I'm sorry but are we talking Edison Standard model A and Edison Standard model E machines or are we talking Standard Type A or Type E disk machines? Jerry Blais

Good morning Jerry. Its a little after midnight here - both are non-Edison. They are Standards A and E........

I have a Type A and a Type H. The female thread is the same but the distance from the threaded end to the first turn is shorter on the Type H. Isn't the E an internal horn machine with the same size cabinet as the A? If so, I'd bet they are the same crank. I don't have an E so that's just a guess. Jerry

Correct the E has the internal horn. I just picked the E up (cute little machine. Unfortunately the single spring makes it ⅔ of the way through a record and starts slowing down. Guess I'll ship it off to George Vollema.

I have a really nice A also. I tried the A crank in this E, it has compatible threads but it does not fit as snug in the E estucheon as it does in the A. Well thanks for the input.

What does your H look like? Is that a horned machine?

Well the crank for the E is a bit longer than the crank for the A. Got my E working perfectly after getting the motor oiled/greased - plays the full record now. Put a few washers on the winding shaft temporarily so I could use the A crank and get the motor fully wound. George V is sending me the proper crank for the E.
