Winding key for XVI "L" door
Does a XVI L-Door machine have a unique winding key or will a key from another machine work?

An L-door will have a female winding key, gold-plated of course.

Re: Winding key for XVI "L" door
I should have mentioned that the early VV-XI and VV-XII will also have female gold-plated winding keys, but I don't believe they'll fit. Luckily, the L-door is far more common than those models, so a crank shouldn't be too much of a problem. The first of the non-L-door XVIs also had a female gold-plated winding key.

The key for the early XI is about an inch too short. It will fit a VTLA. The key for the XII is very short (about 6" shorter than the XVI). Looks like one on e-bay now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-victrol ... 416d843f83

Ahh... the plot thickens. This does appear to be goldplated which seems accurate. I also found these:rizbone wrote:The key for the early XI is about an inch too short. It will fit a VTLA. No, you don't want that pair - they're not Victor.Torjazzer wrote:Ahh... the plot thickens. This does appear to be goldplated which seems accurate. Yes - that looks like the one you want. Can any L-door owners confirm that?
