Woke up this morning to light rain and no wind at all. We were in the direct path of the eye (Northern Delaware) and did not really get more than a lot of rain and some wind. No comparison to Irene last year. Just drove to work and did not see any damage on the way either. Seems like the coastal areas were hit the hardest and then the areas north of the center of Sandy. Looks like we were extremely lucky and dodged the bullet again.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts.

Lets see, at my house: two big trees down, roof covered over with broken limbs and branches, seven telephone poles down on my county road, most rural roads have detours or are blocked off entirely, BUT no major flooding just wind damage big time here in Northwest New Jersey. You know T.A. Edison was correct when he built and operated the first lamp power station on Pearl Sreet in New York City with his "Jumbos" because he ran all his wiring underground in tubes. If we did that 100% today (I know some big developments do) then we would not have all these power outages and line poles down on the ground from wind and trees falling. Gee, who would have thought after last October's freak snow storm that left me without power for nine days! And as of this morning? We have seen not one power company repair truck anywhere near my area - not one! And if you have a gasoline powered generator - well the gas stations have no power either so you are sol.... My entire countie's grid has been down for two days now - the entire county and then some.

Many big trees down here in Sussex County (NJ).
Our house is safe and sound.
We lost power from Monday night through 5 AM this morning.
Most of the county still without power and most roads closed.
Thank God we are all safe here!
Praying for everyone who was less fortunate!
