Thanks, Henry. That's what I need. And more time LOLHenry wrote:Assuming it's an Exhibition, I got really nice pliable front gaskets from Victrola Repair Service (http://www.victrolarepairservice.com/index.html) when they rebuilt mine; perhaps they would sell you some separately. Other sources are George Vollema (http://www.victroladoctor.com/), and Wyatt's (http://www.wyattsmusical.com/repro.pdf). For the back gasket, I would give this source a try: http://www.rmrmfg.com/phono.html. If you want to try a rebuild yourself, this page will be helpful: http://www.nipperhead.com/old/rep_exhib.htm.
Congratulations on your acquisition! Let us know how things turn out.

For parts, I like to deal with people and develop a relationship. I like Ron Sitko and Dwayne Wyatt at Wyatt's Musical Americana for reproduction parts and George Vollema's Great Lakes Phonograph Company for original parts. I buy very little from ebay sources. Jerry Blais

Re: VV-XVI L-Door story
Thank you. That sounds like sage advice. Of course, I recently became a member of CAPS (Canadian Antique Phonograph Society). Finding a network is most important.Jerry B. wrote:For parts, I like to deal with people and develop a relationship. You may also want to check our "links" section. There you can find many of the places Jerry mentioned and even a CAPS link.

I took the tonearm off. Amy I missing something? I was expecting ball bearings.

Re: VV-XVI L-Door story
Nope, there are no ball bearings in the early Victrola tone arms. Your tone arm is a holdover from the horn machines. Jerry B.
