Following that logic, if distinctions between proper search terms don't matter, why not use the correct term rather than the incorrect term?

I have for sale a nice "Bombay" style Sonora for sale with the wooden tone arm. It comes with the extra wooden body reproducer. The motor runs strong. I am asking $500. Of course, there is the consideration of that other fella who lives under the same roof as me, and would probably prefer that I downsize my, um, collections of "stuff."

A nice looking Sonora Minuet listed on UK eBay ended today with no bids. It was probably supplied new by the well known music publishers Keith, Prowse & Co Ltd of London who were the British distributors. Whether the name "Minuet" was reserved for the British market I do not know.

The starting price was GBP£250 which included the original instruction manual, various needle tins and about 60 records. I thought the price reasonable for a good quality machine which is uncommon in the UK.

It is located in Dorking, Surrey.

When I am doing a search for my beloved off-brand machines, I use the word Victrola because most non-collectors post nearly every crank-style phonograph as a Victrola. Has anyone else ever noticed this too? I got a great Edison DD that way cheap because it was listed as a Victrola on Craigs List. Miss-spelled names work great too you know, such as Viktor. I bought a very nice clean Viktor VV-IV on EBay two years ago for $65.00, so for what it's worth - generic names work better when using a search engine like EBay, etc. Just my two cents here folks.

There was no intention to "misrepresent" at all. In my almost 30 years in this hobby I have met some very wonderful people. I can say now that I know of one person that I don't ever care to meet.

I thought the smiley icon would indicate that my remark was tongue-in-cheek, but I guess it didn't. I certainly did not mean to impute nefarious motives to anyone! My apologies if it appears that I did.

Problem is, I've become as attached to him as I have to this hobby...

Besides, as he provides all of the financial backing for any of my personal interests, I've found it's never good to bite the hand that feeds you (so to speak)!
