Silvertone in beautiful oak

Nice one Steve. It looks like it has a telescoping arm or am I seeing things? What is that in the left back corner(needle rest?) I really like decorative grill and doors.

I've seen some very low end lidless Silvertone machines that look similar- but I think that (at best) the case is new and has been fitted with old parts.

To answer your ques-

Yes, it has violet turntable velour

No, the tonearm is not telescoping, it lifts up at the joint so the needle can be easily changed

The back left corner contains a holder for the adapter to allow the reproducer to be changed from lateral to vertical.

There's a picture of it in "A World of Antique Phonographs" by those two gentlemen, Fabrizio and Paul. It is Figure 5-26 on p. 198. It's getting to the point that when I see a phonograph in the wild, I recognize whether or not I've seen a picture in one of the "gotta have'em all if you want to do this hobby right" books and can better judge how desirable it is from the pics and descriptions presented there. This Silvertone is my only one due to the high end nature of the machine and the attractive oak cabinet.

Here's an interesting open sided Silvertone that was on Ebay a few years back.

I don't know too much about the Silvertone pictured below. I'm pretty new to talking machines and this was my first phonograph. It somewhat resembles the Duchess model in the ad posted earlier in this thread. On the back is a brass tag stamped with "F 486" and directly underneath a small cast brass plate reading "P.F.C." Any idea whether these have any significance?

that smaller machine looks to be a sivertone jr but later model parts, it looks to good!but they would be easy to put new wood on or just build a new box.but the parts are silvertone jr post 1922.

Now here's a Sivertone that has been on EBay for several months. Cabinet to me looks totally homemade and way too new looking? I could be wrong. Seller states: This small Silvertone table model was made by Columbia Talking Machine Co. Cabinet dimensions are: 11 inches wide, 15 inches deep, and 12 inches high and weighs 17 lbs.

Don't think this is a "junior" but a homemade creation.
