Sonora Melodon A-20

I'm restoring this phonograph, The outside is perfect but I'm looking for some info on wiring but I keep coming up empty. I guess it's a rare model as I can't find any info at all. It was made in 1928 with a serial #30163 so maybe not to rare. I've found wiring for the a-40 Phonograph and radio made about the same time but slightly different. Thanks For any help or suggestions dave

I agree!!!. Is that a burl wood or a South American wood??. Whatever it is....I wish Victor made some Victrola's with it .

Dave, it would help to know the tube types used in this set. I have several Sonora models listed in my Rider's Perpetual Troubleshooting manual, Volume 1 that covers these early models, but there is no listing for a model A-20. There is a model 7P which is a phono only that could be similar to yours. Sonora also made several models that had the same audio section as the 7P but with radio that appear to be 1928 models that used #50 (or 250 or 350) output tubes and #216 or #81 rectifiers. If yours has these tubes, the 7P schematic may be what you need. Later sets used #45 output tubes and were probably 1929 or later models.

That sounds right. It has 6 tubes. one #227 one #150 two So-2 and two re-2. I'll look for that thanks
