Phonograph Light Or Handyman Addition?

Post by SonnyPhono »

I was contacted today by someone selling an Edison C-19 to see if I was interested. I wasn't because it has been refinished at some point. But it has an interesting light attached to the motor board frame.

I know that there were various companies that made these lights as an accessory to play records in a dark room, but I haven't seen one like this before and to me it looks like it was made by a handy man using lamp parts. Has anyone seen this style light before?

I have a Victor with a light installed. Not an expert on the age of light sockets but like you wonder if this was a dealer or owner addition....excuse the dust, this machine has been covered up for ages................
