Wanted small half of Edison Fireside horn.
Hi, has any one got the small half of a two piece Edison Fireside horn that they are willing to sell. I bought an Edison Fireside and the bell end of the horn came with it. I live in Southfleet, Kent, England. Would be very greatful if anyone can help or even tell me where I could get one. Kind regards Gordon.

Reproduction horns are available from Ron Sitko or Dwayne Wyatt's Musical Americana. I'm not sure if they sell just the small end but I would contact them and find out. I'm assuming that a new small end will fit an original bell. Jerry

There is one listed on Ebay this morning. The small end looks screwed up but you might take a look. Here is the seller (Seth's Antiques). Looks like he has separated the horn as the bell portion is also listed.

Hi Scott, thanks for the link to ebay. I had seen it but think it is going to be too expensive for me as I live in the UK postage is high and I would have to pay inport tax, and I can see that the end of the horn is badly damaged. But thanks anyway. I was hoping that someone on here may have just the end bit they wanted to sell at a fair price. Gordon.

I tried looking for Seth's Antiques and can't find them. I think the seller was Croaking Frog and it does look like he has slit it in to two lots, with the smaller end badly damaged.

I've found out how to avoid import tax, if before you bid/buy you ask the seller if they would Mark the box as a gift and with a value of under $20, this should mean no tax!, I've done it when buying 2 phonographs and it worked fine!debndunk wrote:Hi Scott, thanks for the link to ebay. In Australia if you have international parcels marked as a gift, customs jump on it and ask for proof of value. In the case of antique gramophones you have to pay to have them valued by an approved valuer, this can be rather expensive.
