New-CHAASLE! You're a Geordie! I love the north of England; lived there for some months awhile back (attended the University of York). I'm both an audiophile and an Anglophile.
Best of luck with those Edison requests. Hope they're not too hard to find. My Diamond Disc count is now up to 541 and I do not have ANY of the listed titles--which could mean they will be somewhat hard to find. I'll keep my eyes open for you.

I don't think they would be horribly difficult to find. I've got three of those five, but unfortunately just one copy of each.
What would you play them on? Are you going to adapt a modern turntable or try to acquire an original machine?

Yes I am!, it's a ok Place, lots of history although not much good for collecting!
I am using a KAM 2000 turntable for playing although i would Like a Edison DD phonograph!, it would probably have to be one of the smaller c-19 or B-80 models since it will probably have to be imported!

Smaller C-19 model? My C-19 is rather large. Larger than my VTLA and probably my XVI. There were some table top models, and for importing, that is where I would look. I must admit, however, that the sound from the large C-19 is quite good. It is the largest Edison I own, and it really does sound quite nice.

I think he probably meant the B-19 "Chalet" table top model. I can't imagine what the packing and shipping costs would be to send a C-19 to the UK!mattrx wrote:Smaller C-19 model? I have an A-80 and would not want to ship it. Diamond Disk table tops are still monsters.

I'm not familiar with the KAM 2000 but you would need the vertical/lateral switch installed for it to work properly. Not a big deal if you can find someone to do it. Re. original machines, they do turn up in the UK, but rarely. I was corresponding with someone in the UK awhile back who had a W250!kirtley2012 wrote:Yes I am!, it's a ok Place, lots of history although not much good for collecting!

So true!alang wrote:I have an A-80 and would not want to ship it. Diamond Disk table tops are still monsters.

I've got an L-35, and I only have one other table model that is the same huge size (although it weighs ⅓ of the L-35). If I sat the L-35 on the floor, it actually takes up more real estate than what nearly all of my upright models do.
