I offered the full price plus shipping. He said that he promised two people that they could look at it and that he would get back to me after they see it.

Well the Pathé now resides in my collection. Really nice piece - only minor problem is does not make it to the end of the record, close but about ½" from the outer edge. Other than that its nice and quiet. The records (center start) all sound good. Spring will be on its way to George V. Records are 11 ⅛ inch.

Congrats, it looked like a nice machine. I'm glad the seller had the integrity to give you first refusal as promised. This is a trait becoming more and more rare these days.

Thanks. After further inspection it has 6 center start records with it in original jackets which are affixed inside the lid - 5 of the 6 are smaller. I chose the largest when I got it home. It plays through the other five with no problem as it did when I was checkng it out. Problem solved.. :D

Sounds like a really nice little package deal.

Congrats!

Yes it worked out nice. Gentleman has several Edison DD's for sale, plus a player piano, music box and a horned Edison cylinder player. He is thinning out his herd. All these machines are in excellent condition.

Thanks Rich. I only live 13 miles away which worked out well, usually stuff is a major voyage away. Take care and best of Holidays

Congratulations!
That's a fine looking Pathé you picked up. Those early French machines were very classy indeed, and I'm sure the machine will give you much enjoyment.
Perhaps at some stage you could do a "featured phonograph" thread on it, though I don't know what number we're up to in the featured phonographs??
It's always interesting to get a close-up look at machines you dont see everyday!
