Hi folks. Thought I'd update you on my adventures in adapter land. The Kent ones on e-Bay mentioned above went for over $77 and I dropped off at that point. "Screw it," I said. I then chased a nickel-plated Sterling (with reproducer) on e-Bay until it hit $285. "Screw it again," I said. I then remembered that George Vollema stocks pretty much everything and prices things very reasonably. So I am now awaiting a Sterling adapter/reproducer from him for less than $100--tested and ready to go. From what several of you have said, these adapters are pretty ingenious and many do allow for lateral motion so as to accommodate any discrepancies between the lateral grooves and the Edison tracking mechanism.
Question: is the Sterling built in such a way that one can pop off the Sterling reproducer and pop on something else (like an Orthophonic reproducer?

You know I just had to ask). From the photos I've seen, the answer is probably no, but why not ask the experts?
Should be a delight to use, in any case...and of course will further my mania of playing Pathé discs on NON-Pathé machines.
