hi ...im in the process of bringing this cabinet back to life ,,the motor is a mess old grease, dirt ,,some play on the winding gear that was fix by a friend with a lathe, etc etc,,
now ,,,when i got the machine the governor has 2 weigths made out of lead ,,they were really rusty so i took a brush to clean them up and dust and pieces came off, they were a litle bigger in diameter ,now they look to be a litle smaller ,,,now the motor work and i can see that the gobernor moves from side to side,,,QUESTION...were do i find these type of weigths to put new ones ? can i put another type of weigths and springs in this cabinet?or should i leave these ones alone and move on....
another question i have it's about the gear you see in the pic ,,it looks ok not broken so i glue it back in position with gb weld ,because the key was not holding it in place..
thanks every body out there that can help me to answer these questions...

I'm sure Ron Sitko has the weights and springs. He also has the gear that is loose and fell off. Give him a call. 518-371-8549

If you have access to a scale which can weigh the weights then you can file
or drill small holes in the heavier weight to make them the same.
Then clean them to bright condition and paint them black filling any holes
before you paint.

i called Ron and he told me it would be fine if i can see that the governor moves ,and i did see it moving ,,,so once i clean and re-lucricate everthing will see how it works ,,,the graphite gear i re-glue it with gb weld and it hold ok ,,,it's in great shape
