Help in identifying parts.

Post by rizbone »

Can anyone tell me what I have here. Are the reproducers columbia? Are the boxes correct? I'm pretty sure about the edison crank, but what are the other two.

The crank on the left appears to be a Columbia Disc Graphophone crank and the crank on the far right looks like one that would be used on an early front mount Harmony or similar type front mount machine. The reproducer looks to be Columbia cylinder Graphophone at first glance and the other appears to be a recorder. Just a quick thought on them.

Actually on second glance both look like recorders and they both appear to be Columbia or have Columbia body parts. The ski slope recorder piece sure looks like an Edison recorder part.

The crank on the right is for a Busy Bee disc machine.

I think one is a recorder and the other a Columbia 'Lyric' spring-contact reproducer.

The recorder and reproducer are both Columbia and fit the lyric style carriage, such as the BE or BK would have.

the one on the bottom is a reproducer, the one on the top a recorder, both columbia
the crank on the left is from a columbia disc graphophone and the one in the middle is from a edison suitcase home i beleive (possibly a square top standard)

These look like from the BK era Columbia both reproducer and recorder. The recorder seems a very good design, and even though Columbia based on the Edison design. The ski slope device I think is to raise and lower it on the record.
