His and Hers Edison A-250's

I was doing some phonograph cleaning today and decided to snap a few photos of our two Edison A-250's.
Mine is the mahogany machine and my wife's the oak.
The mahogany machine was purchased about four years ago. It was stored in a barn about fifteen minutes from our home in the rural North-west corner of NJ.
The oak machine was posted on the Yankee Trader section of this forum by a kind member.
I drove nine hours by myself(round trip) to Rhode Island to pick it up.
During the trip, I listened to every Barry Manilow cd that I own.
As you can see, I'm a sucker for early Edison disc machines.
The oak A-250 is serial # 408
The mahogany is serial # 13642

I'm with you - also a sucker for the 250 series! I am particularly fond of the oak. They make great bookends.

I like any of the early A-series Edison Disc Phonographs: 60, 80, 150, 200, 250, 300, 375... Your two A-250s are very nice! Oak is always a plus, but I like the dealer decal on the mahogany as well.

Great machines. Even though I usually prefer oak, in this case I think the maroon bedplate fits the mahogany better. I also like the dealer decal.

I'd be interested to know what kind of record storage they have, I'm guessing the earlier one has individual slots and the latter the B250 type paper dividers inside compartments for 10 records each?

Has the earlier on louvres on the sides?

No, The earlier oak A-250 unfortunately doesn't have the louvers on the side like an Amberola I-A cylinder machine.
It also does not have the mute ball in the horn like the later mahogany machine has.
Both machines have two record drawers with three wooden separators forming four compartments per drawer.
Yes, in my haste to put things back together after cleaning, I did put both grills in upside down.
Now fixed.
Do I get points for consistency?
