Re: My Record Has arrived
Records with odd spindle sizes are not very rare. I often pick them up at flea markets for a few bucks. It isn't hard to turn a piece of wood to make an adapter to play them on a regular phonograph.

Re: My Record Has arrived
It's an interesting title. I don't have it on Columbia (which is where Standards came from), but I have a 9 inch Zonophone of it by Arthur Collins. He was very prolific at the time, so your record is probably by him.
As to value, I'd have to agree with the above, most of these discs aren't terribly valuable, but a good title and one in better than the usual beat to **** condition would be worth having, at least to me.

You don't "have" to make anything to play this, or any other large-hole records. You just center it on the turntable, make small corrections until is doesn't weave, then play it. I transcribe all my large hole records this way on a fairly modern turntable.

You can find a nylon or plastic bushing at Lowes that fits the Standard or Harmony records and will just slip on a regular size spindle.

Re: My Record Has arrived
I have a nice little aluminum adapter that slips over regular-sized spindles for playing Standard records. Works like a charm and is much less fiddly than trying to center them by hand. Bought it a year or so ago, I think off eBay, and it was pretty cheap. I can't think now who it is that makes them, but perhaps somebody else here will.
