Reversible Sealant for Columbia 15 soundbox isolator?

Post by barnettrp21122 »

Hello all:
I have a British Columbia No. 15 Soundbox with the spongy red isolator that is in useable condition. No one I know of is making these new, and I'd like to use some sort of sealant that wouldn't damage it or not be reversible.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Bob

Maybe use the existing usable isolator to create a mold for making new replacements from silicone or similar? There should be a market out there for these.
If you just want to seal yours, maybe just ad a thin layer of soft foam sheet on both sides?

Andreas:
Good suggestions. I have a friend who's done some casting. I'll mention it it to him.
Thank you!
