Walnut victrola on craigslist in Virginia (Fredericksburg)

Mmm---this looks to be a later (post-G) model XI, but according to Baumbach LFTD the XI was not offered in walnut. So what gives? It may be the light, but the inside of the lid looks darker to me than the rest of the cabinet, leading to the usual question: has a re-finish job been worked here? And what *is* the finish, if not walnut? Opinions, please.

factory Walnut finish. I know it has a No2 reproducer and from 1920 or 1921..

I've also own a VV-XI with what appears to be a walnut finish. I don't believe it's a walnut machine but it is colored like walnut. It appears to have a nickel plated tone arm. The nicest machine with a nickel arm is a VV-XIV. Jerry

How can this VV-XI in Fredrickbug and the VV-XVII in Ridgefield Connecticut both be about 30 miles from you?? These two places have to be more 300 miles apart???
