This is the first Credenza I have seen locally (after roughly 6 months of searching),
and it really isn't THAT local as it's about a 10 hour drive from Toronto.

I understand your frustration. I wish we had something like Union in Southern Ontario. Alas, trolling Kijiji and networking through contacts is our lot. However I found my beautiful Credenza on Kijiji so it does happen; "...but not punctually".

Mr Grumpy
We have been in the Ottawa area for close to four years now and my wife and I have used our time to travel across eastern Canada and USA. On many of these trips we have taken in Stanton's Auction, in Michigan, the Union Show, and a couple other auctions in the PA and NY area. Every time we came back with our treasures in the back of our ford Escape in plain view. We declare the purchase price and so far only paid taxes an average of 1 out of every 3 trips.
We have not been charged duty on the antique phonographs (or parts)but do pay the HST.
If you are considering taking in the Union show I would recommend going - even if you do not find the one machine you are looking for. There is lots to pick from and lots of great people to meet.
