My Victor 8-9!
I purchased an 8-9 this past fall and it was love at first sight (don't tell my wife.)
I own both a 2-door and 4-door Credenza, as well as an 8-12 and they're great machines, but the 8-9 is just so art deco and cool. 8-)

My new 4-40 would be the keeper, I love the sound and the design. :clover:

Well, if I had to have just one for all my discs, it would have to be a Frankenphone of sorts: a machine with an external exponential horn, universal attachments for laterals and verticals (in case I get more than one non-Edison vertical), plus a mechanical feed for DDs.

Barring that, I would insist on two: if I have to draw from my collection, it would be the C-250 and the BI (which does a pretty creditable job on early electrics)....

You're all going to hate me for this, but seeing as how I neither collect vertical discs, nor own any cylinders... it would have to be my HMV 102.

A situation where I only have one machine is clearly a "life and death" type situation. Considering that, I think I'd like to be portable whilst maintaining rich reproduction. :D

(I'm curious if "Brunswick Ultona" would be anyone's choice ?)

As of now, that's my choice. I have a Brunswick 207 with the 2 position Ultona, and I love it! Since I bought that, I hardly touch my VV-VIIIa or bother with my Edison Standard (even with it's morning glory horn). I bought a portable Silvertone, and it doesn't interest me the way the Brunswick does. I should see about getting the reproducer redone though.
