hmv 101 horn and /or gilbert tonearm needed for a project

Oh you cruel people! Seriously though, I've got to defend Gilbert gramophones. Many sound far more impressive than they have any right to. There's something in the combination of the diaphragm, the bugle tone arm, and the often highly resonant metal internal horn which gives them a loud, brash, but musical sound. They are not "tinny", as so many lesser gramophones from the period are.

ive been experimenting with a gilbert tonearm ive had for a while but it is not one I wanted to cut up because it Is in very good, useable condition, do you think I should just go ahead and cut the good one up anyways?, that is why I was looking for a beat up one but I might go ahead anyways!, what do you think?

thanks for the heads up!, i have a idea to make one entirely from wood, if it fails, i will go back down the 101 horn route!
