Well, the price is indeed right. They have a rather handsome cabinet and are pretty nice machines if you have the room. Why not go check it out! Couldn't hurt, right? (Famous last words.) :)

They're gorgeous machines if in nice condition. I bought mine for $100 on my 16th birthday in 1989, it's stunning. I still have it and all the original records that came with it from the daughter of the original owner. They have a very large horn that really does have a much bigger "sound" than that of a typical floor model victrola (pre-orthophonic, that is...)

I agree with Sean. Beautiful cabinet and the combination of the "fat" tone arm and a large horn gives a fine sound - about as good as you could get from a pre- Orthophonic internal horn machine. Definitely worth it if you have the room.

I have one of these as well and love it!-The finish on the cabinet is nearly perfect and the gold plating looks almost new and it has great sound. I got it and all the paper work and albums from the grandson of the orginal owner and feel lucky to have the machine. I bought it 18 months ago on craigslist for $200 and in the condition it is in felt it was a great buy. I know, I know not many collectors want these machines but for the price the condition is outstanding.

I sorta wanted this (the ad has been on & off for quite a while) , but there's truly no place to put it AND I haven't had a day off since October (160 mile round-trip, for me) .... also, the route from Buffalo looks like I'd get lost! haha. Nice machine, I bet.

Let us know how you make out with it. I forgot to mention, these have a nice four spring motor in them as well. I didn't even look at the ad until today, the price certainly is right if it's something you have the space for. Mine moves in and out of the house every couple of years, I just don't have the room inside for everything.

That's what I'm faced with, lol. I need to decide how I can rotate and store items. I'm thinking it might be time to finish off part of the barn...funny as I age, I find myself so much less interested in the 4 wheelers, camping, etc.
