I know it's a horn but I think Tickle from the MoonShine series would like to get his hands on it... LOL

It's one of those hats that Welsh women used to wear, and it's been out in the rain.

I think you identified it already for yourself - a bent phonograph horn.

It looks like an oversized hat worn by Gandalf the Gray.

This would work if you pointed it backwards.

I see that it has a chain that would connect to a horn support. I would say a clever construction to use a long horn in a condensed space. Never seen one before either live or in a catalog, so I suspect its a 1 off. The bend is obviously constructed so.

I would buy it if I saw it for sale, though the investment in Brasso may be a bit daunting!

this brass horn realy looks like the ones used by the edison co to copy edison discs to cylinder they used a horn 2 horn system like this for the production of blue amberols after the fire of 1914 after the first world war they used straight horns that would interlock

Very unlikely that it was used for dubbing: such horns would not have had a flare or bell.

The angle is pretty awkward for any cylinder machine, too; which raises the question:

What the heck WAS it for?
