According to a couple of my rock-and-roll collecting friends, there was one Elvis RCA Victor that was pressed on 78 only in Canada. As such, it was not available as a 78 in the US. That record is particularly sought after. Also, I have seen high prices payed for some Irish-pressed HMVs. These are not the light blue label but the dark maroon type. They have printed on them "Pressed in Ireland".

Yes, that was the last 78 issued by RCA Victor in the USA. But you are showing a Canadian issue Of that recording, and RCA Victor continued to issue 78 RPM records in Canada until about 1960.--Mark

How can you tell a US copy from a Canadian issue? The label design I assume? (I'm new to these later 78's)

US label were multi-color. Look at the bottom of this (Canadian) one you posted, it says "Made In Canada".

No, this was not the last. "I Got Stung" was pressed in 1958, whereas the last 78 pressing in North America for an Elvis record was this record in 1959, "A Big Hunk of Love".

Sorry to quote myself, but for those interested, both of Ricky Nelson's Verve singles on USA 78 are currently on ebay, along with misc. other US, Canada, and UK pressings (and one late South African press too.)
