Finally got my appointment with the fellow selling 5 machines in Vancouver. The Pooley was gone, the Pathé was not for sale any more, the Cecilian had a broken spring and looked really good-bought by another person while I was there, the Aeolian-Vocalion had been sold, and I took home the C-150 with broken spring, a lateral adaptor, a dozen Diamond Discs, and an extra motor. Haven't checked the extra motor yet to see if the spring is any good, I don't have my hopes up.
Checked the spring in the extra motor and it is good! Cool!
I've been to this house before, buying 78s off Craigslist a year ago or so. He has what looks like an unpright piano but you put in a quarter and it will play a song with a full compliment of musical instruments - drums, xylophone, piano, and others. Very cool. That's also for sale, but way out of my league. Also has an old electric console radio/phonograph for sale, didn't look too close at that one, but what I saw looked nice.
