Model H reproducer question...

Post by Le0 »

Hi, I have this reproducer and someone decided to "fix" it in the past...

what do you think about the stylus? does it look like it should?
I have two Model C but comparing to them would be meaningless.

Looks like it got "fixed" with a 2 minute stylus.

As Rizbone has stated, your "4 minute" reproducer has what looks like a home made stylus bar for a Model C.
I have posted a couple of photos of a Model H stylus. Sorry they are not up to your standard of clarity.
Regards,
Alistair.

thanks a lot... this is what I thought.
do you happen to have a spare stylus/bar? I'd like to avoid APSCO and the like and get it "cheap".
buying a whole unit in better shape might be more cost effective though (the tail weight was wire wheeled to booth). :|

Your best bet is probably Mark Gaiser who trades on Ebay as Croakin Frog. He tends to have plenty of spare parts.

Alistair.

STOP THE BUS! That is a 4-minute Edison stylus bar, and the bottom of the weight has the little "V" to limit its position. This is a 4-minute "H" weight, and stylus bar.

It is not intended for 2-minute records.

The one clevelander posted photos of is a model H, yes. But I think the one in question is the one le0 posted a link to.

thanks Alistair, I'll ask him if he has one... I bought a couple things from him but they aren't mailed yet so a little stylus added won't change the shipping price. :)
