Edison Cygnet Horn Suspensions

Can anyone tell me what the correct suspension for an Edison Standard Model D with cygnet horn should be? I assume the bolt/knurled nut and spring is correct, but I want to be sure. There is no hardware at all on the crane.

Dave, practically speaking, it comes down to the type of connector on the cygnet horn that you have.

Some cygnet horns had a connector that is a swiveling ball with eyehole. You connect one end of a coiled spring to that, and the other end of the coiled spring connects to a long screw suspended from the crane. Adjust the screw to raise the horn and remove most of its weight from the reproducer carriage.

Other horns had simply a socket that directly engages with the head of long screw suspended from the crane. No coiled spring is used with those. Not as nice as the first type I described.
