Weekend Find

Post by phonogal »

Found this little record at flea market this past weekend. It is marked Greetaphone from the Hall Bros. (before they became Hallmark). The instructions are; Do not remove from cardboard & Play with a new steel needle. Just thought it was interesting.

Interesting. I have some old British postcard records that are similar, but yours is more attractive.

Any idea of when this was made?

I think they're early 20s, I have the exact same one. The disc on my card is a medium shade of blue. Acoustic recording, I think, but it's been several years since I've played mine.

I think Seans's right about the 20's. It says on the back that the record is unbreakable but it is very thin and kind of warped so I don't think it would play very well.
