Holy Socks ! :o

What a find ! Congratulations !

Flea Market, eh?

Did the seller have the remotest clue as to what they had ?

I'd have a go at completing it and making it play, if it were mine...

Please keep us posted !

He knew it was some sort of record player because it had two berliner records on it. He demonstrated it to show that it still worked. He had a lot of stuff and most of what he had was filthy and looked as if he had cleaned out an old barn or chicken house. He had an old phonograph horn that caught my wife's attention first. We had both walked right past the berliner to look at the horn. My wife asked me later "Why did you just stand there so long and say nothing after I showed it to you?" I told her I was trying to figure out just what it was myself.

Since I know little of the history of these things I am curious how it worked. I don't see a spring so did they have to keep moving the lever to make it play?

Congratulations on a fantastic find!

On this webpage is a pic of a similar tin case model, though only in an old photo.

I'm going to be really tacky here: If you don't mind telling us, how much did you pay for it?

There's a saying that "chance favors the prepared mind". Opportunity came knocking, and you recognized the call! Congrats!!!
