I got these with a electric gramophone I have shown in the machines section, I was expecting them to all be smashed completely but no!, all in one piece, not even a crack!
I haven't played them yet but they seem interesting!, perhaps I can use them for French at school!
the writing on the front says "a series of French conversations describing a visit to Paris by M. and Mme. Dupont as published in the daily mail"
Not too far off - one of the English sets has instructions on how to buy a new Radiogram.
A bit off topic, but James Thurber said that in his french Phrase book everything seemed to escalate to a calamity:
"I have cut myself" is quickly followed by "Ambulance, Surgery, Amputation". After reading this he nicked himself while shaving and ran into his hotel lobby to get a bandage, shouting "J'ai mal avec un couteau" - I am sick with a knife.
I think you made a good purchase. Learning other languages is a good thing! Perhaps you will need the French some day to get a better deal on an old record or phonograph.
