Fancy case Amberola on Ebay

What do you think of this? Quite fancy, but I'm not sure if it's a period custom cabinet or completely new. Possibly it might have had another sort of phonograph in it - the board surrounding the Amberola 30 mechanism doesn't match the case. The more I look at it the more I'm thinking this is new- that smeary finish seems to shout it.

Wondering if it might be one of those after-market cabinets made by various firms back in the day to set table model phonographs into to make them look like floor models?

I like the cabinet, but not for $6,000.00! :o There are better machines to be had for that kind of money.

You and me too Kirtley!

An interesting cabinet, not worth that by any stretch, and the 30 was kind of low end if I remember.
