Here is the latest update: On April 8th, I decided since I had my extension ladder out, that it might be a good idea to clean one of my gutters on the second story. Needless to say, that was not a good decision and I fell about 30 feet, landed on my right foot and fell backwards onto a rock in the landscaping. When my wife found me I was covered with blood from a head gash and couldn't use my right foot or right arm. EMS came and sent me by helicopter to the trauma center. Fortunately, I just sprained my right ankle and arm badly and had a surface gash on my head. As of today, 6 weeks later, I can use my hand and arm just fine and can walk without crutches. Miraculously I am alive and not paralyzed. My foot is getting better and I will be back to normal soon.

So, as far as the progress on my restoration, it has been put on hold for a little while... :)

That's horrifying! You're lucky to have escaped much worse. Good luck with your continued recovery!

Curt

What a scary experience, but certainly happy that you're recovering. I've never had any bad experiences or fears using ladders, but I have to admit that age is beginning to make me think about it more.

Take care, and thanks for the invite to Carolina Antique Music and Phonographs Society. I'll keep it on my calendar.

Wow Curt,

I guess I shouldn't say "glad I asked" . Good to hear you are OK. After a near fall in a similar situation about 10 years ago, I had gutter guards added to my house. Never had to think about them since. Something to consider.

Hope you finish your recovery quickly get back to the project soon.

Take care

I made 50 copies of this cabinet a couple of years ago. I have the shelves, cobbs and hangers for it. Pm me. If you are affiliated with CAMPS, never mind.
