I stumbled upon this page while researching exponential horn designs, and thought I'd pass it along to those who might be interested.:

I know that some of the members of various (former) forums were interested in this. Personally, I had no idea that such a variety of designs were produced. Some, with proper modification, would be applicable to acoustic phonographs.
