Victrola Changer identification

Post by antique1973 »

I checked the Victrola website and can't see any matches for this model. Anyone
familiar with this record changer? Thanks.

It's not a Victor, it's a Stromberg Carlson, not sure what model.

Yep, that's a Stromberg. Probably a model 5,6,7 or 9. They were all similar. But the significant thing is if it is working, you have a very unusual find. These changers used huge amounts of potmetal in them, and most of that has turned to twisted shards and dust. Very few of these changers still work with the original parts.

Thanks for the clarification guys. I also posted on the Radio forum and they chimed in
along the same lines. The seller is trying to run a "Craigslist Auction" with no pricing.
He also has a VV XIV early gold version in oak. I am avoiding oak though unless its special
finish.
