Unusual Problem with VV-111 Motor

Post by CDBPDX »

Just received a 4 spring motor from a Victrola VV-111 that had no tension upon winding. I assumed a bad spring, but all the springs were good, though desparately needing regreasing. However, I did have a lot of difficulty removing the spring barrel shaft. Found out the keeper srcew had broken off in the shaft hole. Filed down the parts sticking up on the shaft, drilled a new hole, and now it works great!

Never seen that problem before. CDB
