Russian Opera on Asch Label c.1945

Here's something you don't see every day:

Prince Igor opera by Alexander Borodin performed by the Bolshoi Theater State Orchestra recorded in the USSR and released on ASCH label as a 5 (12") record album set in late 1945, album 800. After WWII and before the USSR became the cold war bad guys. Probably didn't sell a lot of these albums in the U.S. after 1948 or so.

I found some of these recordings with matching matrix numbers on the USSR label, this album is most likely pressed from those masters.

With a David Stone Martin album cover, to boot!

Enjoy! CDB
