VV 8-10

Post by Altona1 »

Found this for sale in my neighbour hood asking price $275.00...seems like a fair price...one problem..got no room right now. Apparently this was made for the Canadian market..its a 2 spring motor and I think its a fairly handsome looking set.

I agree, it looks like a nice machine. But if your neighbor wants to try to sell it here, it should be listed in the Yankee Trader forum, with contact info, location, measurements, serial no., etc. etc. I don't find this model listed in either of the Baumbach books, so there is a dearth of easily available information on the 8-10 here; the more you can provide, the better. Just a friendly (and I hope helpful) suggestion. :)

Where are you located?

If I can get to it to pick it up I want it!

Very handsome, and in nice condition too ! :)

Sounds reasonably-priced.

Wonder if it has the horn of the 8-9/8-35/10-35? If so, it's by far the nicest cabinet choice for that horn.

From the Brit spelling "neighbour" and the model number, I'm assuming that "altona1" is in Canada.

Yes, it uses the same horn. A friend of mine in California has one, they're really nice machines.

Now that you mention it Sean, it does look like my 8-35, just missing the drawers and record storage on both sides. The doors, pulls, grill cover, etc all seem to be the same.

Right, but aside from the photo there's really no useful information there at all.
