Type B Graphophone

I recently bought a Type B Graphophone in a walnut? case. The number on the identification cover is 456610 and on the nickel baseplate is capital I on its side followed by 6610. The baseplate is then mounted on another rectangular nickel plate with no markings. As the machine is fitted into an inverted case I am wondering if this is correct or whether it is a European machine. I have posted some photos and would be interested if anyone can comment on my purchase.

The mounting, cabinet, and serial number are not consistent with the U.S. - built Type B Graphophone. The end of the mandrel has a Columbia patents plate, but collectors are often slapping them into mandrels that never had them (U.S. Eagles didn't have mandrel tags until about No.146,000). I believe your example is a European copy of the Type B.
