Rare Parlophon cabinet. Help required please :-D

Post by Stevieboy75 »

Hi all, i'm a newbie to here. And would like to say what a great forum!!
Can anyone help tell me a bit more about this wonderful machine I have?
It's a Parlophon (£=L - LINDSTRÖM). Standing aprox 4.5 feet high in a heavily carved oak cabinet.
The cabinet is flanked with 2 carved Vikings and a Vikings head to the central door? Works perfectly and is in superb condition.
I would really like to know a bit more about it as I have scoured out there and found nothing looking similar.
I thank you kindly in advance.
Steve

I have attached a picture below but I can post more if it helps. :-D

Crikey, that's an awesome cabinet. Hopefully someone with catalogues might be able to help.

That's what I said when I saw it for the first time.. The viking theme was a bit bemusing but then again carl lindström was Swedish born.... May be a link to it being carved this way! Just hope someone can help on it. Thanks for the comments though!

Welcome to the forum. What a beautifully ornate machine. Here is link to one of the discussions on this forum about Parlophones.http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... parlophone There is a link to a collector in Germany with several catalogs. He looked up my Parlophone model for me. If you search this forum (Search button upper right hand)you will find a few more threads. Jan

I agree Richard... I have searched and searched.. I just cannot find another like it. Really hoping someone can shed some light on it. Just sat down and listened to it.. Incredible genius craftsmanship.

Quite a cabinet. I think this is not a catalog item but a special order piece from a cabinet shop, with Lindstrom works installed.
