This is just great!
I just did some checking in all the Rust books I have on the Goofus Five and while no sides on Perfect or associated labels are listed, the later sessions listed (1928 is as high as he gets) are likely, according to Rust anyway, the California Ramblers, which certainly sounds possible!

That is an interesting record!
There is another 'St Louis blues' on Perfect 15738 I had a long time ago, by the 'Louisiana Rhythmakers'; I wonder who was really on it? (Matrix E.29947, from 24 May 1929.)
The flip was 'Casa Loma stomp' (mx 11445-A, 11 March 1932). It got broke about 35 years ago, and I've never seen another copy. This coupling was also issued on Banner 32701 and Oriole 2654 and possibly others.
E.29947 was issued as by Jack Winn's Dallas Dandies on Melotone 12051.
11445-A was issued as by Connie's Inn Orchestra on Melotone 12340.

Rust to the rescue!
The "Louisiana Rhythmakers" was a pseudo for Irving Mills' Hotsy Totsy Gang on that disc.

Well, that certainly was a bit of a tangled web there...
The Rust books can be pricey. I know Mainspring Press has "Jazz Records" available as a CD-Rom and perhaps still in hardcover format, but I know a number of people had issues with it (layout, title index was messed up and no page headers, I think).
I got an earlier edition of Jazz Records from another collector in a trade and bought the American Dance Band Discography at Wayne a couple years ago for $150 or so. The complete "Entertainment Discography" I turned up in a used bookstore a few years ago for $5.
They are out there, but as they say, they ain't cheap! Worth having though, I use my Rust books almost daily.
