I saw that machine at Union and thought no one is going to buy this and fix it up. Thanks for proving me wrong. You have done a fantastic job and I wish I had your talent if indeed you did this yourself. I thought the 33 speed didn't come until 1933 because I had a Victor from that year and I also have a 1934 model 341 with a similar changer but more brutal than yours. I also have the second Victor changer on my Victrola 9-54 from 1928. I would like to know who you are. PM me if you are inclined. Thanks, Marc.

Marc:
The machine was functioning pretty well when I saw it at the show. The changer reject function needed attention, and the machinery was dusty and oily, so I tore it apart completely and had it set up on a workbench for a couple weeks making adjustments. Fortunately there were no missing pieces and the electronics were already done over.

That's a great video of a nice piece. I collect record changer / radio combos. If you are looking to buy the 341 that I am thinking of then you are welcome to stop by. PM me back.

Bob,
Lori and I like early record changers and would have loved to add this one to the collection. We were standing next to this machine, at Union, waiting for you (I think) to make a decision about it. If you had walked away, we would have taken it. Lucky you, it has turned out to be a gem.
We watched the changer work with a stutter and now you have made it smooth again. Good job! Also, this is the best presentation video I've ever seen for a vintage machine. And, I say that as an ex-professional as I was a DOP for many years before retiring. Thank you very much for sharing this with us. Russie and Lori

Thanks Russie:
I'm glad you were able to see this at the show. The changer needed some work in fixing the trip mechanism, and when I took it apart to fix and clean it, I found a couple other small issues. A lot of the final work was making various small adjustments and experimenting with different small spring sizes and tensions.
Thanks much for the comments on the video. I liked putting the extra effort into it, as it really makes these old things come alive again, and serves a bit as a journal I can share.
