Yes the tune is totally different and I'm unable to find the Indestructible version elsewhere on youTube. If anyone else has this cylinder kindly give it a listen and see if it's the same tune I've uploaded here.barnettrp21122 wrote:This is not the official Coast Guard song. The Coast Guard's official march title is "Semper Paratus" (Latin for "always ready") which is the service's motto.
The original words were written in 1922, with current-use lyrics penned in 1943.
Here's some more info:

Thanks Jim. I just used a relatively inexpensive, about $200, external mic. that plugs into the camera. The result is pretty good though, I think.phonojim wrote:Great job with the audio portion. What did you use to record it?

Yes, the quality can be great, especially the two minute ones. Shrinkage is definitely an issue though and the selection of music could be better. So many of the recordings are by artists like, "band", probably house bands and nothing seems to be known about them.NEFaurora wrote:Got to love those Indestructibles.. I love'em! I have about two hundred of them. I'll take them -even with some of the shrinkage..
If it wasn't for them, Some of the two-minute music of the day would not be around today.
