WTB: Oak VV50 w/original (decent) finish, veneer & all parts

Post by Tinkerbell »

I'm looking to buy an oak VV-50 with the original finish, good veneer, all parts.

Would prefer to have, but it's not imperative: The later model with the needle tin in the lid; a recent rebuilt motor (so I don't have to wrangle with an unwieldy, possibly bad spring stuck together with grease in a bucket again... if I don't have to  .)

Haven't seen many around these days, and for some reason, the ones on Ebay seem to be going for outrageously crazy prices.

PM me if you have one that you're interested in selling. Thanks! :rose:

I don't have one for sale, but within the last year, I've found two very nice oak ones through members here at reasonable prices. I'm only keeping both because they're in different finishes. Good luck!

Thanks, Sean.

I'll keep bumping my post, if need be. I hadn't been around much in the past year or so in part because I was out of state caring for my father until he passed away, so I didn't have much time for pursuing any personal interests.

I'm on the prowl again for one. I only wish I would have been able to snag that one in Florida that I posted about a few years back that came with it's original travel case... it probably would have been worth the drive, if I could have had the owner on CL commit. :rose:

I was fortunate to have found a Mahogany 50 on CL here in Florida last month. She asked $200, offered $100 and a week later she accepted. The wood still has its shine, only one shallow scratch and all else appears untouched. The repro had a broken off needle screw, which i swapped out. I havent even checked under the hood yet, but I suspect an unhooked spring. Its # 2 on my assembly line of projects- you know how that goes...

Tink, There's one listed on Ebay (not mine) that has a broken spring but thought you might be interested in it.

Thank you, Phonogal... I actually have that one on my watch list as a possibility, and waiting for some information from the seller on the reproducer, too. :rose:
